Janne Persson lives with his wife and dogs in Gäddede in northern Jämtland.
Previously, his daughter Ronja helped him with both training and competition.
Janne began competing in sprint events sometime in the late 1980s and has, over the years, made the transition to long-distance via middle-distance.
In sprint, he competed for the national team and raced in both the World and European Championships as well as many Swedish Championships, achieving excellent results.
In long-distance, he has competed in most long-distance races in Norway and Sweden, such as Femund and Finnmark on numerous occasions.
He has also secured several podium finishes over the years, including one gold medal at the Swedish Long-Distance Championships.
